The twelfth-century temple of Jagannath, Baladeva and Subhadra at the heart of Puri, standing on a raised platform inside the high Meghanada wall. For Gaudiya Vaishnavas it is where Mahaprabhu took darshan every day from behind the Garuda pillar for eighteen years. Food cooked in its kitchen is sold as Mahaprasad at Ananda Bazar inside the walls. Only Hindus are admitted, and cameras and phones must be left outside; each summer the deities leave on the Ratha Yatra.
