Vimala Temple

The shrine of the goddess Vimala in the south-west corner of the Jagannath temple's inner enclosure, beside the Rohini Kunda tank. Food cooked for Jagannath becomes Mahaprasad only after it has also been offered to her, which is why pilgrims seek her darshan on the same visit. She is honoured as one of the Shakti-pithas, and her main festival is a sixteen-day Durga Puja in Ashvin. It lies inside the main temple walls, so the same entry rules apply.
