The banyan at the foot of the steps to the old Madan Mohan temple, where Advaita Acharya stayed on his visit to Vrindavan and worshipped the deity of Madana-Gopala under the tree. That deity later came to Sanatana Goswami, who built the temple on the hill above, and became known as Sri Madan Mohan. A small memorial here also recalls that Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu stayed at the spot.
