The ghat in the south of old Mathura where, Braj tradition holds, Narada met the five-year-old Dhruva, had him bathe and gave him the twelve-syllable mantra before he left for his austerities in Madhuvan. Shraddha offered here is said to equal pinda at Gaya, and Krishna is remembered as having Kamsa's last rites performed at this ghat, still a cremation ground today. Saints of the Nimbarka sampradaya have long lived here.
