Akrura Ghat

The Yamuna ghat on the Mathura side of Vrindavan where Akrura, driving Krishna and Balarama to Kamsa's city, bathed and saw them in the water as Vishnu reclining on Ananta. Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu made this ghat his base during his stay in Vrindavan and bathed here for long hours. The small Akrura temple keeps Mahaprabhu's footprint, and an old banyan beside it is where he is said to have rested.
