Mata Murti Temple

A small temple about 3 km north of Badrinath on the right bank of the Alaknanda, facing Mana village, dedicated to Murti, daughter of Daksha and mother of the sages Nara and Narayana. Once a year, on Vamana Dwadashi, Badrinarayan is taken to visit his mother: the Rawal performs the puja and the people of Mana hold a day of havan, bhoga and celebration. It is also sought out as a quiet place for meditation.
