Atharanala Bridge
Lila-sthana · Atharanala, Puri–Bhubaneswar Road, Puri, Odisha 752002
The thirteenth-century stone bridge of eighteen arches at the northern entrance to Puri, still carrying the road from Bhubaneswar. Coming from Bengal as a new sannyasi, Mahaprabhu reached here, asked Nityananda for His staff and learned it had been broken, then ran ahead alone to see Jagannath. In later years He came here to welcome the Bengali devotees. A small shrine keeps footprints of Mahaprabhu installed by Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura.
