Sannihit Sarovar

A sacred tank in Thanesar believed to be where the seven Sarasvatis meet and held to be an abode of Vishnu. Families come here to offer pinda for their ancestors, and bathing on Amavasya or during an eclipse is counted as highly meritorious. Small temples of Dhruva Narayana, Lakshmi-Narayana, Hanuman and Durga ring the water, with the Dukh Bhanjan Mahadev shrine at the north-east corner.
