Simantini-devi Mandir (Simuliya)

The spot where Parvati, hearing of Gauranga's glories from Siva, worshipped the Lord and received the dust of His feet on the parting of her hair (simanta) — giving the island its name. Today a Siva-linga is worshipped in a small temple; the goddess herself sits under a pipal tree in nearby Khalsepara.
