Madan Ter

Lila-sthana · Madan Ter, Parikrama Marg, near Varaha Ghat, Vrindavan, UP 281121

A wooded rise on the parikrama path just past Varaha Ghat, named for Madana, the god of love, who came to strike Krishna with his arrow and instead fainted at the sight of him. Hit Harivansh, founder of the Radhavallabha tradition, settled here with his deity on arriving in Vrindavan and is said to have composed his Hita Chaurasi under a banyan that pilgrims are still shown.
