A math behind Bada Odia Math in Markandeshvara Sahi, established by Abhirama Thakura, counted among the twelve cowherd companions of Nityananda. Pilgrims come for darshan of the deities he worshipped: Radha-Krishna, a Patitapavana Jagannath, Radha-Madanamohana and salagrama-silas. Here Abhirama is said to have tested Gopala Guru of the Gambhira with his famous obeisance. The old structure is largely in ruins, but worship goes on.
