The exact place where Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu appeared in 1486 beneath a neem tree, identified by Jagannatha dasa Babaji and Bhaktivinoda Thakura in 1888. The temple compound, run by Sri Chaitanya Math, holds deities of the Lord's parents with the child Nimai, Gaura-Narayana with His two consorts, the family deity Adhoksaja Vishnu unearthed on the spot, and a memorial to Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura. The neem tree still stands in the courtyard; Gaura-purnima here overflows with pilgrims.
