The seat of the Radha Vallabha tradition founded in Vrindavan by Hita Harivansh in 1535, for whom Radha is the supreme goddess. On the altar Krishna stands alone as Radha Vallabh, "Radha's beloved", and a crown beside him marks her presence; the temple is known for its samaj — the old Braj singing of the Hita poets.
