Varaha Ghat

A quiet ghat on the south-western arm of the parikrama path, about half a kilometre from the Krishna-Balaram Mandir. The tradition holds that Krishna playfully showed his companions the form of Varaha, the boar avatar, at this spot, and a rare deity of Varaha raising the earth is worshipped at the ashram of Gautama Rishi beside the path. Madan Ter lies a little further along the parikrama.
