Sri Krishna Matha
Temple · Udupi Krishna · Car Street, Udupi, Karnataka 576101
The Krishna that Madhvacharya installed in the 13th century, a child holding a churning rod and rope, seen only through a window of nine holes. The Kanakana Kindi, a small window in the west wall, remembers the low-born saint Kanakadasa to whom Krishna turned; the eight mathas take turns serving the deity for two years at a time, and the handover — the Paryaya — is Udupi's greatest festival.
