Tota Gopinath Temple
Temple · Radha-Krishna · Yameshwar Tota, Goudabad Sahi, near Chataka Parvata, Puri, Odisha 752001
The temple of Gopinath, the Krishna deity that Mahaprabhu dug out of the sand of a garden ('tota' in Odia) near Chataka Parvata and entrusted to Gadadhara Pandita. Gopinath is unusual in being seated; tradition says He sat so the aged Gadadhara could still dress Him. Gaudiya Vaishnavas hold that Mahaprabhu ended His pastimes by entering this deity, and a mark on the knee is shown to visitors in the morning.
