The kund Radha and her friends dug with their bangles, held by Gaudiya Vaishnavas to be the holiest water of all. Its rediscovery by Sri Chaitanya Mahaprabhu in 1515 began the settlement around it; pilgrims bathe here at midnight on Bahulashtami in Kartik.
