Narad Kund
Kunda · Alaknanda bank below the Badrinath temple, Badrinath, Uttarakhand 246422
A recess in the bed of the Alaknanda just below Tapt Kund, at the foot of the temple steps. Tradition holds that Adi Shankara found the shaligram deity of Badrinarayan in these waters and re-enshrined it; the conical Narada Shila between the two kunds is where Narada Muni is said to have stood in penance, and a lion-shaped rock in the river is identified with Narasimha.
