Sri Radha Govindaji Mandir (Old Temple)
Temple · Radha-Krishna · Govind Dev Mandir, near Rangaji Mandir, Vrindavan, UP 281121
The vast red-sandstone temple Raja Man Singh of Amber raised in 1590 over Goma Tila, the Yogapitha, where Rupa Goswami uncovered the deity of Govinda. It once rose several storeys; the upper levels were pulled down in the Mughal period and Govinda was carried to Rajasthan, where he is now worshipped in Jaipur. The cruciform hall with its carved vaults is an ASI monument, and replica Radha-Govinda deities are served in a newer temple built on its north-west side in 1819–20.
